Commemorating the 18 March Çanakkale Victory, described by the National Poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy in his poem “For the Martyrs of Çanakkale” with the lines:
“What is this battle at the Dardanelles? Does the world have any equal to it? The densest armies are attacking four or five at a time.”
and with his words, “The generation of Asım… I said it was a generation of truth: here it is, it did not let its honor be trampled, and it will not let it be trampled.”
