We celebrate Teachers’ Day on 24 November, which was declared to mark the anniversary of 24 November 1928, when the title of “Head Teacher” (Başöğretmen) was bestowed upon Gazi Mustafa Kemal by the Council of Ministers for the establishment of the Nation Schools.
As we continue to advance along the path he opened and toward the goals he set—guiding us to raise generations who are free in thought, free in conscience, and free in wisdom—we commemorate our Head Teacher, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, with respect and gratitude.
